A Few Things to Consider When Ordering a
Shed
To avoid any extra cost and keep the shed within our
standard pricing try to:
-
Pick a location within 100 feet (30
metres) from the unloading point to the building site
-
Have the site as level as possible, we
cannot excavate but we allow for 2”–3” of leveling
-
Have as much room around the shed as
possible – 24” is ideal and is the setback bylaw in most
areas. For pool Cabanas the set back may be more, check
with your local zoning office.
Decide what size and style, also how well the location will
work for you.
Determine how those decisions will affect the overall look
of your property.
It is always best for you to find out what the local zoning
and bylaw codes are in your area, so you select the right
size and have the proper setback allowed. In most places you
are allowed 10 square meters or 108 square feet in the
outside dimensions of the walls. The average set back from
the property line to the wall of any shed is normally 24”.

Another point to consider is what kind of base will work the
best for you. We do not recommend just laying the patio
stones on the grass, your shed will probably settle and sink
out of level.
-
Patio stones bedded in gravel is
inexpensive and works quite well.
-
A concrete pad works well for pool
cabanas with pool equipment that have buried water, gas
and electrical lines coming up into the inside of the
structure. This kind of base is also the best for larger
sheds and garages
-
Concrete filled sono tubes or piers may
work best if you have a sloping grade issue and cannot
or do not want to pour a concrete pad. They would work
well as a foundation for any size shed.
Please Note: We do not paint, caulk or excavate.
